Yorba Linda Fire

This past weekend was a frightening experience for us all. A wildfire broke out about 3 miles from our home on Saturday morning and with the Santa Ana winds blowing with gusts upwards of 50 mph the fire became HUGE and came precariously close to our home.-- The fired burned up to about 25 feet from our back fence. In the end, almost 100 homes in Yorba Linda alone were destroyed. The fire spread along Yorba Linda and to the surrounding communities of Brea, Anaheim Hills, and Chino Hills where more homes and businesses were destroyed. We were evacuated for approximately 36 hours but were lucky to come home to a house untouched. Thank you firefighters!!

The burned hills behind our neighborhood.. the pictures just don't do it justice.

What is left of Bryant Ranch Park.. one of our kids favorite places to play. So sad. Three out of the four parks we go to burned down.

How the orange groves escaped the flames is anybody's guess. Everything around them is gone.

The blackened hills.. Again, hard to tell how bad it is in these pics

The riverbed behind our house. You can now see all the way across..

Jackson and Owen reunited

Back in September, Jackson's best friend, Owen, moved to a different school. It was a sad day since they were INSEPERABLE. Jackson asks about Owen at least several times a week and tells his teachers he too will be going to a new school. Well we finally got together with Owen and his mom for a playdate at Griffith Park. Here are a few pics of the boys riding the ponies and having a quick snack break. We can't wait to get together again soon!

Just like Daddy...

Saturday night we watched Kyle for a few hours. The kids had a ball and were wild and crazy as usual! Rick and I caught all three of them in action, playing.. what else.. VIDEO GAMES! This picture reminds me of ten years ago - when I would come home and Rick and his friends would be sitting around playing video games.. deja vu! A minature clone of his father!

Disneyland Trick or Treat Party, 10/28/08

We ventured out to the Disney Trick or Treat Party a few days before Halloween.. We all had a great time! They close the park early and there are tons of trick or treating stations, meet and greet the characters, and Olivia's favorite, multiple dance floors set up with DJ's playing and characters out dancing!

Knotts Scary Farm

We finally made the trip to Knotts Scary Farm this year.. It was during the daytime for the kiddie Pirate Party so not too scary, but fun nontheless. Jackson had a ball and loved meeting the "bad guys" as he calls all the monsters. Olivia enjoyed eating all the candy =)
